Bruce Hart – Social Worker, Family Therapist and Counsellor

B.Social Work, M.Sc (Family Therapy), Member AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers)

I have  over 20 years experience as a qualified social worker, family therapist and counselor. I have worked extensively in the mental health and relationship counseling services. As a bi person I bring both my professional and personal experience to support you with your GLBTI issues.

My intense curiosity about relationship dynamics and family systems led me to pursue my post graduate education and training in marriage and family therapy. I bring to my practice my authentic curiosity about you, your life, family, relationships and how you experience yourself in relation to your world. I believe that in order to understand your s experiences fully, it is essential to incorporate more than one model or theory into our work.

In addition to my training in family systems and psychodynamics, I am also experienced in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and I integrate Mindfulness Therapy into my practice. Using a collaborative approach, I empower you to fully participate in the process of self-exploration and discovery giving you acceptance and support in your journey.

I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups with everyday struggles as well as with the more trying times in their lives. My areas of specialty are anxiety, depression, life transitions, men’s issues, LGBTQ concerns, parenting, late bloomers (coming out later in life), sexuality, and divorce.
